McCarthy initially started out in the mid 70's as a haulage contractor and formed the limited company J. McCarthy Transport in 1980. From this modest base it expanded its expertise over the years evolving the current structure which has 3 arms.
McCarthys have an extensive knowledge of the South and Mid Wales area employing local labour and have built up long term working relations across the supply chain throughout with particular regard to local quarries, recycling facilities, landfill exempt sites and landfill sites.
Our People
Specialist staff, competent in the planning and delivery of the diverse Civil Engineering projects which we deliver:
- Qualified Project Managers, Quantity Surveyors and Engineers
- Qualified Site Managers and Site Safety Supervisors
- Plant operators - CPCS/CSCS as a minimum to cover the required operated disciplines
- General operatives - CSCS as a minimum
In addition to this additional training/competencies are carried out as required including:
- Streetworks
- Passport to Safety - Rail
- Passport to Safety - Quarry
- Appointed person for lifting
- Scaffold Inspection
- Confined Space Entry & Topman
- Quick Hitch training
